Faculty Positions at the South Asian University
For the second academic session commencing in July 2011, the University has the following openings for faculty positions at the level of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor:
- Faculty of Economics (5 positions)
- Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science (5 positions)
- Faculty of Life Sciences and Biotechnology (6 positions)
- Faculty of Legal Studies (6 positions)
- Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences (6 positions)
- Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social Sciences (6 positions)
Salary, Benefits and Incentives:
- Professor: – US$ 30,000 to 45,000 PA
- Associate Professor: – US$ 20,000 to 35,000 PA
- Assistant Professor: – US$ 15,000 to 25,000 PA
Non-Teaching Positions at the South Asian University
The Grade mentioned against each refers to the grade/salary level of the position. Nationals of all SAARC countries are encouraged to apply, particularly for the senior positions. Please note that cost of living in New Delhi can be fairly high and non-Indian staff members in junior grades may not find the salary levels adequate; hence most of these may have to be recruited locally.

Salary and Benefits offered to Non-Teaching Staff:
- IA – US$ 30,000 to 45,000 Per Year
- IB – US$ 27,000 to 40,000 Per Year
- II – US$ 18,000 to 30,000 per Year
- III – US$ 14,000 to 23,000 per Year
- IV – US$ 10,000 to 20,000 per Year
- V – US$ 9000 to 16,000 per Year
- VI – US$ 6000 to 11,000 per Year
- VII – US$ 4000 to 9000 per Year
- VIII – US$ 3000 to 6000 per Year
Starting salary within the above ranges will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A 3% annual increment in salary, and a cost of living increase (to be decided each year by the University), will also be provided. Except for the Registrar, salary and allowances of non-teaching staff will be subject to Indian income tax as applicable.
